The Process

The process of awakening and self realisation can come with a lot of expectation or confusion.

To clarify, the process of awakening is an irreversible perception shift into realising the idea of being ‘a separate self’ is not actually the truth.

Self realisation is the deepening which follows awakening - it is the process of ‘unbinding’ from all concepts of ‘personal identification’ and ‘the purpose of this experience’.

It also includes navigating deep shadow work.

Self realisation is ironically very individual, dropping deeper into pure experience.

There is not a clear road map to awakening and self realisation.
However, detailed below are some of the processes which could occur as Tom guides you on this journey:

Confronting recurring thoughts and beliefs about yourself, or what you take yourself to be. Effectively, coming out of mind identification.

Reaping the lessons from suffering, and realising that suffering actually is a catalyst for realisation and waking up to the Truth.

Experiencing the Now, through the gift of our five senses, plus thought. We do this by directly experiencing awareness in the senses -this is how we can fully be in unfiltered reality.

Shadow work - looking into the parts of our ‘self’ which are deeply buried, looking at trauma and beliefs which hold us in suffering. The shadow provides us the materials to be free of suffering. Confronting the parts of ourself which we believe are truly unloveable, or if we were to show these parts of our self to another, we would be ridiculed or judged.

Questioning concepts which are running our life, and looking at fixations. Often these are indicated by areas of our life where we suffer, where we have looping thoughts or areas we have deep fears about.

Inquiry into ‘What am I’ or ‘What is this’, during our daily experience.

Using the five senses plus thoughts as our entry point into experiencing unfiltered reality - this means truly experiencing Now for Now, without having to disassociate into thinking and coping mechanisms (which is considered to be the ‘normal’ experience of being human).

Learning how to turn towards difficult sensations / feelings and be with them. Not trying to heal them, or change them, but allowing them to Be. Learning and realising that we have deep capacity to feel all sensations / feelings when we don't jump into mind identification / start believing thoughts.

Embracing and experiencing non-duality; coming out of 'right' or 'wrong' and realising that it is the mind alone which creates this polarity.

Yielding to your intuition. Life is unfolding, exactly as it needs to be, in a moment to moment realisation of being in the Now.
